This one here, it's the only one I've had for a few years now, Stanley #63.
This is the one I sold. As I said in the ad I only bought it for a trip. The only mandolin I own is my Stanley, I wasn't about to take it to Disneyland so I bought the KM900 a week before I left and...
That's beautiful.
That's a shame. Bless you for helping his family with his estate.
Awesome, Pava, Tom and the crew know how to make em' real good. Congrats and enjoy it in good health.
Very cool Marty, you're one creative guy.
Thanks for the review, it's always fun to see Mr. Thile and PB, glad you had fun.
Good thread-
I'm too busy these days to call anything a hobby but something I do occasionally or was heavily into and still do when I can. The cause of this is having four sons between the age of 1...
Wow, that looks great. What did it set you back?
You're feeling that rush of unfamiliar and familiarity. I played bass for 25 years before picking up the mandolin. For me the similarities and differences were a turn on. Four stings being the...
Thanks for the compliments. I can't wait to see it in the flesh. Chris' finish work is awesome, there's not many builders that capture the depth he does, you gotta see them in hand to appreciate...

Here's some finish pics-

Very nice for sure.
Good point, I missed that.
I just got an email from Chris that he's nearly done polishing. It'll need to cure a few weeks but I asked for some more pics, I have no idea how it looks.
Nice review, thanks for sharing. How bout pics, audio, video, the works? ;)
Besides both being A's in the white I see no resemblance.
WOW! So beautiful, great job.

Kentucky, game, set , match.
The carving is slightly different on this one. It'll be very cool to see how it sounds. I'm confident it will sound great, that's why I chose to stay with Chris.
Now that you mention it... The finish will look like one of Austins so... The saying goes, there's nothing new under the sun.
I have a dola' and zook and emando but always play the regular old mandolin. I can see the attraction to the other voices but with the exception of the OM where I used it in a bass and drum trio I...
You had a big year, you should be very satisfied.
I've owned several E mandos in various price ranges and picked up a mando bird on closeout for $149 early this year, it rocks. Lots of easy upgrades if you choose.
