Agreed- however I consider the difference in what you pay for a new one and what you get when you sell it later as "rent" for while I played it!

Thanks so much Joe- big help, as always!
I saw and listened to Will the first time this early March at Dave Surette's Mando Fest in Concord, NH. I took my 80 year old mom to the Saturday Night Concert. She grew-up in the swing era and she...

I understand about using Jubilee polish. My question is with your experience does it matter what...
Thanks for the jam updates and the link!
Good point. I was debating this for myself. I think for my situation it would be better to get the H2 instead of the H1. With the extra $$ to get the H1 accessories package (which I think would be a...
Ditto, totally agree. I use the extend play strings and have tried differnet ones on different instruments and have found the above statement to be true. You just got to try them out and find which...
FYI, an H-2 can be had for around $141.08 on Amazon including shipping. It comes with a .5 gig card (I think) so there is the additional expense of getting a larger card ($12-13. for 8G at Amazon).

John Hamlett is THE man. If you are working with him you are good to go.
Dan,
If you need a good local luthier in the area let me know. I know of a great one south of C-ville. I have entrusted with a number of my instruments and he has done a great job for me on all.
Charles is in Richmond.
So what happened to the round hole- did you send it back?
BTW, I do have the pick guard, just off for the photos.

Glad you are stickin' to the round holes G!
Very handsome instrument.; how does it feel, how does it sound?
(yeah, I know, your last post was Dec. 11, 2009, I 'm just late to the show...)
David Harvey (of Gibson fame) has one, or had one last time I talked to him a few years ago. He told me it was one of his favorite ones (great sound).
I have one as well (1921)...the ser # is...
Hi yu'all,
I haven't posted here in awhile. I'll make up for it with a long one.
About 3-4 years ago I put out a wanted ad here on Mando Cafe looking for a used Sweet Pea (SP), figuring someone...

Hey Gerry, Thanks much! A good one.
Does anyone know the new address or replacement address for the Charlottesville jam link that is now broken?
Hi all,
I am bumping this up to get updated information. I did a web search and was not able to find good information. Some of the web links mentioned above are not now functioning (like...
