On the subject of Webers, I think they are very nice. I haven't played any that I really loved though but I have a hunch it was more a setup issue than a bad mando issue. The only webers I have...
yea man! thanks!
Hey Scott, I've played that Givens. It's a monster. It's actually one of the better mandolins I've ever played. Wish i had some extra cash!
I ordered one from Barry Kratzer, I believe of Bulldog Mandolins, from the classifieds last week and it is great. It's a leather round braided strap. Definitely gets the job done and is nice looking....
I just got this as a gift. It's great! How bout those old clips of Sam Bush and Tony Rice. I highly recommend this dvd to all bluegrass/newgrass fans. It's got everything from traditional to...
I really like it! Well done.
I for one think "the sound" is more the player than the instrument. I think some folks get caught up looking for the right mandolin instead of learning to play their mandolin the right way.
nobody's perfect i guess
I don't own a mowry but would love to see as many pics/clips as possible. His work is amazing!
The Avett Brothers have some punk sounds in their old time/grass.
It is a great cd. I listen to it often. I was under the impression that there is one band playing all of the songs and one person featured, which they named. They didn't announce who the band was. I...
I've played a few and have been very impressed. Very nice mandolins for the money.
I've been wearing out smallmouth in this Tennessee heat!
Hey Dan, That's great! Thanks for posting. Is there any way you could show the front?
Hey Guys,
First off I am not a builder but I thought you guys may have an answer to my question. #I was recently in Cotton Music in Nashville and played a beautiful Altman F5. It had a varnish...
I have to agree.I'm not evan a huge Thile fan at all. I'm a huge Bush fan. I'm a bigger Monroe fan. I've seen Mike Marshall, Evan Marshall, and the list goes on and on. Each of these guys are amazing....
That's how I spend my weekends here in TN. Smallmouth fishing in the rivers. Drybones, that's an accurate color for smallies around here. I've been trying to think of a good headstock inlay involving...
Hello all,
Andrew Mowry is building some incredible looking mandolins. I would like to get some opinions on how they sound and play. If sound and playability are on par with the way they look they...
sorry,wrong place!
I don't mind Weber posting at all. Lots of other builders do it. I enjoy seeing new pictures. I think we all need to just relax a bit http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I am very happy for Mr. Dudenbostel. I know he is not the seller but it must be very rewarding to know that of all the builders out there, he is setting the bar. I know that some feel that the only...
Chris Knight is the best thing to come out of Nashville, country wise, not bluegrass, in years in my opinion. Talking about a guy who is the real deal. Anyone ever heard of him?
Wow Andrew! I'd love to see the front of those. Great work!
I really like the bursts i have seen on all of Andrew Mowry's instruments. It appears to be a very thin coat of varnish that allows you to see all of the grain in the wood. Looks very cool.
