Greens Corners and Bills Corners are just that, intersections of rural roads - they are maybe two or three miles apart. I used to spend a lot of time jamming in a garage about midway between the two....
Danko is being honoured in his hometown:

BLAYNEY - Fourteen years after he died and 52 years after he joined the musicians who would go on to form The Band, Rick Danko is about...
If you get a chance, please try a Mandobird in your case and let us know if it fits. The make is even perfect as is the price point.
You did, starting with Marc Garneau 25 years ago. There have been a whole bunch since - this is the third time for Hadfield.
Some interesting reading on fakes if you search on the subject. Some of the distinguishing features have even been addressed by the counterfeiters. I went into a store here in southern Ontario, and...
Mandobird value:case value of about 1:1
With the uke craze that seems to be on, I think I can find something cheaper. In the mean time I have a pretty good padded soft case by Levy's.
Thanks! Where was the video filmed?
But no aux in with the VOX Valvetronix if I recall. Something I did not mention in the original post is that I just sold a VOX DA15. Solid state but otherwise similar to the Valvetronix. I really...
Probably should have used something stronger than "like the idea of" aux in and headphone out. I really want those two features for practice.
Never heard of a Tech 21 - these threads usually turn...
The Superchamp XD is highly regarded, but doesn't meet my need for aux in and headphone out. As I said, I also have an old-school Champ (mid 70s I think). a photo of my 5 string-

I have been considering a Roland Cube 40XL (and the 20, the 80 and even the microcube). Anyone have one? I have three solid body electrics - a Mandobird IV, a custom 5 string and a Kent 8 I tune...
Now that's what I'm talking about. Someone that is buying 100+ guitar cases could make these part of the order and lower both the unit and shipping costs. Voila, an $80 emando case.
Has anyone seen the inside of the Epiphone case? If it is not shaped it might be perfect for a Mandobird.
As a 30 year guitar player you probably wouldn't recommend anything under the $300 mark for a guitar, maybe $200 used. Double that for mandolins. And contrary to advice from many, I have not heard an...
... and if any manufacturers are reading this, I'll take a tweed one!
My point exactly, there are lots of electric guitar cases for $60-80 and they would be perfectly suitable for a $200-300 emando if they were only smaller. I have a 5 string that I found a case for -...
I started a thread on cases.. seems to me there is at least a small market for a rectangular case that would fit many solid body mandolins. Sort of like the generic ones built for electric guitar....
Exactly. I think $150 is too much given the value of the instrument. Rectangular guitar cases can be had for $80 or even less, a price point which makes more sense from a $MB:$HSC perspective. My 5...
Thanks for the suggestion, but that case is about twice the price of a generic electric guitar case I was thinking of in the original post. I poked around a bit to see if I could find a case for a...
I can't find a thread on this, so I thought I would start one. There are a few questions on the new Fender thread about cases, and I know that finding one that fits properly for many emandos is next...
I use one of those belts made in Guatemala, or maybe it's Mexico. Double them over at one end to make loop and add a hole the other. They make a nice comfortable strap.
Another vote for monels. Darker, woodier, not as brash as a bronze string. That said, if I played more bluegrass I might use a phosphor bronze string.
ZOOM H-2 is closer to $200, but they work great. I picked mine up used for $80. I sometimes use it as a mic by plugging it into a computer, using free Audacity software to multi track. Has several...
The instrument and style of music you play are factors. I like Gibson monel strings (Sam Bush, but you may find them under another name - they were not always Sam Bush endorsed) on my F-5, but I have...
