    I was always told that a violin has strings and a fiddle has strangs. Don't get rid of that mandolin... you can always return to it to regain some dignity. ;)

    I believe Eastman was using the same Schaller tuners in 2006 that they are using today, though I could be wrong. I remember changing the tuners on my old MK and it was fairly easy, but I also swapped...

    That's very nice indeed. I like the distressed look... I was recently reading threads on removing nitrocellulose. I'm still contemplating it on my Eastman. I'd rather have varnish.
