Got me again!!!
Asleep at the wheel as usual on the 1st.
Another great story!
They have the best price I have been able to find on Tomastik Mando strings.
Stand tips over, man goes insane!
Case opens, baby guitar?
Another vote for the Ingles. Very hard to tip over. I don't think your mando could be much safer, except in a case.
Hi guys, The man who makes them is Mike Blohm. It's Pronounced Bloom. The buttons are a work of art. I purchased a set late last year and they are worth every penny! ($250.00) when I bought them....
300win, I have a 2003 Gibson F5-G that has the stock bridge with the typical intonation inconsistencies. I've decided to try correcting it your way. I really think you have stumbled onto something...
This is a great discussion. What a coincidence. I'm a mechanic also and understand the mechanics of this situation. What I'm suggesting that since this has been a problem for so long, for so many,...
When I first read this post I was thinking the same as most of you have already stated. My immediate thought was that it would be better to first set the bridge with the A & D strings intonated and...
I forgot to mention that my Gibson was once drilled for an endpin jack that has since been removed. I installed a, for the lack of the correct name, "thing" that resembles an endpin that has an...
I'm going to over the head strap and am wanting to be able to attach/detach my strap easily. I've seen a video of the Dunlop straplocks coming undone and won't consider them at all. I also saw a...
Mike, I forgot to add that now you can blame me for making it to easy for you to just go ahead and buy them! I just put a new set on 1 1/2 months ago, and now I've got a new Cumberland Acoustic...
Mike, You can get the TI's at Elderly Instruments for 30.00 + 4.95 shipping (Priority Mail) their web page says 33.95 but it's the minimum allowable advertised price. When you add it to your cart...
I posted a number of videos on good ergonomics for mando players (taught me by a great performing arts doc). You can find the link to them at my web site.[/QUOTE]
What a great, and very generous...
Hey Mike,
Mandy, my F5-G likes Tomastik Starks. They last a good 5 months and I've gotten over 6 out of them before. Plenty of volume and a deep rich sound.
They have no break-in period. Great...

After 60+ years on this planet, I've found that the very best gifts are the ones you buy yourself! I think most will agree that I did OK this year!
Waverleys from StewMac and Custom Buttons from...
Here's the one to get, hands down. Instrument won't come out and has a great center of gravity. I've had one for about 7 years now. It's an Ingles Violin/Viola from International Violin Co. and works...
Hi Scott, I too would like my real name Steve Farling from Mandy-Man.
Thanks, Steve
I've been using the TI Starks for a few years but since I got my hearing aids I feel they are lacking some tone for bluegrass. How long do the 75's last? I get a little under 6 months out of the TI's.
I just wanted to give a heads up to anyone who might be interested. It's listed with the mandolins.
TI Starks, you'll get the bass you want and they last for almost six months. I've been using them for around three years now, and have never broken one yet. Sometimes I get to flailing pretty hard...
It sounds like they need to change the name to the "Tone Enhancer". http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif
Don't let anyone tell ya that Monroe never set his mando on fire. Word on the street says that someone came in and saw it burnin', so they put it out with a fire poker.
