  1. Re: Baby Taylor to OM - bridge plate reinforcement questions

I agree with Rick. Lowes and Home Depot no longer keep the chips in stock. You can order them online but they're the thicker ones (0.045"). None of the three cabinet shops I know of use formica...

    Re: Tuneup in CT?

Paul Neri in Clinton is also an excellent choice; not exactly western CT, but he and George Youngblood at Acousticmusic are the only people I know to recommend.
  3. Re: Baby Taylor to OM - bridge plate reinforcement questions

    Paul -

Let me see if i can get a piece of the thinner 1/32" formica at my local Home Depot/Lowe's or at the custom kitchen shop very close to my home. If I'm unsuccessful, then I will gladly...
  4. Re: Baby Taylor to OM - bridge plate reinforcement questions

    Thanks for the advice, Paul.

How thick should the piece of formica be?

Actually, never having used formica, perhaps I misunderstand. Does it even come in varying thicknesses?
  5. Baby Taylor to OM - bridge plate reinforcement questions

    Hi all -

My understanding is that an additional layer of material should be glued to the bridge plate in order to add structure to offset the additional string tension.

    Hi all -

I have tuners with metal buttons for a GBOM project. The buttons and the shafts on which they sit are round with two flats machined into them. The distance from flat to flat is 0.135". ...

  9. Weird result when clicking on classified ads

    Hi guys -

When I click on a classified ad, instead of seeing the ad, I get a blank window and the url is "<ad number> 1x1". I've attached an example.

Do you know what's going on here and how I...

There might be occasion to play on deck, but it rarely happens. We've been on this cruise 5 years now and there's been 2 jams on deck in all that time.

Re: The effects of salt air

Virtually all the jams are inside the air conditioned portion of the ship.

Re: The effects of salt air

It's a cruise run by musicians for musicians and musically inclined non-players. Besides, I always take a mando with me.

    The effects of salt air

    Hi all-

I will be going on a cruise and wonder if salt air has a negative effect on acoustic instruments. The period of exposure will be ~10 days.

For the most part, my Northfield will live...
  15. Re: repairing excessive bridge saddle to threaded post clearance

Rather than try to intuit the answer, I thought it...
  16. repairing excessive bridge saddle to threaded post clearance

    Hi all,

I have a bridge saddle which is in excellent condition except that there is way too much clearance between the holes and the threaded posts.

The clearance is sufficiently large that...

[QUOTE=Dobe;1443653]Ditto on loving that aroma. On the other hand, some smells, well....

I know they're talking about a popcorn machine. Still, I find this to be offensive in its implication.
