Okay I'll start there. Thanx
Where do I begin to add a jazzier feeling to the basic 12 bar blues progression? I was listening to Leon Redbone's version of 'Step It Up and Go', the form is 12 bar but has a definite jazz swing.
Not sure what the make of the solid body was. The owner said he paid couple hundred for it, maybe a Kentucky? I did sound like a baby guitar. I think an eight string solid body is more to my taste.
I played a four string emando last weekend and it's piqued my interest. I'd like to hear what the group thinks is the best emando for the money.
Less than $500, line-out, wall powered (no batteries needed), two channels preferable, don't need effects.
Hi all,
I know there is probably plenty of threads 'bout this. I'm looking to buy the best possible 30 watt(ish) acoustic amplifier.
Look forward hearing from everyone.

I just tried to contact him about his book and the email bounced back. Anyone know what happened to him?
When I use one, I prefer the Planet Waves NS capo. They make the Trio version that they say fits mandolins. I usually buy the guitar one and cut it down to fit.
Thanks for all the thoughts everyone. I've just ordered the internal Twin Spots from Elderly. Looking forward to giving them try.
I'm looking at the K&K pups listed on Elderly for my TC Bouzouki. Does anyone know the difference between the Twin Fusion Mandolin pickup and the Twin Spot Internal, besides price?
Has anyone tried EMG's B soundhole pickup for the bouzouki?
Hi all,
If I have a reel in Em, what would be the most dramatic key change for the next tune in the set? Going to G major? Or another minor key?
Thanks for the re-affirmation. I do have an EQ on the board. I had been toying with that idea of using it as a boost for solo. Guess I should look further in to that.
Hi,
I don't have an electric but an acoustic with an LR Baggs Radius. When I play live, I've noticed that the volume of the picked notes are not at the same level as the chords. I've been trying a...
Hi all,
Lately, I've been on stage with a Blues band playing my acoustic mando w/pickup. The stage level sound coming from the monitors having been wreaking havoc with feedback.
My question is:...
Here's how we play The Rocky Road to Dublin at my seisun.

John, I too use capos when neccessary. I use the Planets Waves NS Steinberger. I've cut about a 3/8" off of it to remove the sticky out part. I like it alot.
Hi all,
With my new bouzouki, I've been thinking to expand my horizons. Please let me know what are some of the popular Greek tunes to play. Links to notation would be appreciated.

I plan to replace the resonator cone in my Johnson. Before I go and order one from Elderly, I thought I'd check with the forum to see if anyone else has had experience in this.
Look forward hearing...
Considering the frequency range of the mandolin, would a smaller speaker better match the mandolin's frequency range? For example, what got me thinking about that was the Woods Violin amplifier with...
I use an old Dunlop winder that I cut down to properly fit the mando tuners.
Thanks everyone for the info. I appreciate all the different ideas. I guess I'll have to try a few and see if the sound is what I've got in mind.
