I had a custom yellowstone with a cedar top for a while and never got used to the sound of the cedar top. I could really tell a difference.
It wasn't bad by any means, it was just me.

Just bought a BRW from the classifieds, its a serious mandolin!
I just got BRW 79 from another cafe member and honestly I was a little intimidated by the instrument. I've had many, way too many mandolins but this is a "real" one. Its just a great piece of art. It...
I've owned two, one for some time and the other just for a month or two. They are very nice instruments IMO! Very complex tone and easy to play but not very loud. Good volume and a value in my eye's.
Mine was made by gerald anderson, and while i've tried everthing else i've gone back to this one. My mando lives it all the time, my daughter sat on the case while it was open (mando out)and bend the...
Between my mandolin and guitar, I have more money in them than I have in ALL my cars plus the tractor. But please don't tell my wife...............ha!
I support the local shop. Reason, you've been in there playing his stuff and established a relationship with the guy (or gal). If you ever have a question or god forbid a problem he'll be there to...

Does anyone have info on this mandolin, it looks...
I've tried several including the dreaded tori$& and I always come back to the Wegen150. I drill small holes in it like the guitar flatpick and I just love it. The bevels are very addicting.
Well, I don't have a special addition but just got a custom yellowstone with a ceder top from Dennis. It was my first weber and I was scepticle to say the least before it arrived. He had a hard time...
Rick, I did a search for the Yellowstone A and found nothing, where do they exist? and where and when will another of these be available.
Thanks
I had doug edwards make me an abrieviated model for the weber. It was nice and he explained how to install it on the mandolin. I thought it was going to be comfortable but found my pinky would hit it...
Is that the diamond back that he's had for sale? I've had my eye on that baby. It looks like that one's still on his site?
What model? Grand? colors. i'm on the list too and I'm having a hard time with color choices. What number is this going to be?
I have just become the happy owner of a Custom Yellowstone, cedar, block inlay, flowerpot its a wonderful instrument. What is the major differencce between that and the Fern?
I couldn't be happier...
Jason, I liked it better when I thought it was later on in her career but I appreciate the info. Is there anything I should look out for?
Lee, I had Charles play that for a while the other night. He also played some other mandolins he had and the Ratcliff definitly had a deaper tone but in consideration this was over the phone so in...
This looks interesting, does anyone have any opinions about her work during this part of her career or this mandolin?
I'm thinking hard about this one.
Audey Ratliff, plays with a couple bands. He's fairly busy too.
I seem to be cought by the oval hole bug and i'm looking at a weber F4 type instrument. Anyone have any insite on sound and does the "old wood" have anything to do with it.
Any thoughts?
thanks...
