If we can at least accept/embrace the fact (you don’t have to agree with it) that some people think the Avett Brothers and Mumford and Sons are ‘bluegrass,’ we’d be doing such a great service to all...

"I’ve been paying attention to the recent news about Bluegrass Nation–an interesting and potentially very exciting new development for the IBMA...
Glad that video helped you. I know that his rh tech has really helped my playing. As a recovering guitarist I brought all kinds of bad habits to the mandolin. I am pretty sure that chris picked up...

Punk Rock got me a bass guitar and soon after an electric. I made a lot of noise through out my teens! Then i moved to folkish stuff on an accoustic. Now its mostly Americana/County with a side of...
WOW... embedding the videos was WAY easier than I was trying to make it!
I am enjoying the Rover RM75 I just picked up. They retail in the low to mid 4's. I got mine barely used for $250... I could not pass it up at that price. I have be very happy with it. I drag that...

Grooveshark is also very good if you ar looking for something very specific. Pandora is still the bet for hands free listening.

I have a Rover RM75 and the headstock veneer has a couple bubbles around the tuners. I looks like the veneer has a different finish than the rest on the mandolin. Its like a thick, clear polymer...
I had a lefty bridge that came on my mandolin. It looked like the factory worker just grabbed it from the wrong box. The shop owner had it swapped out for me after I noticed.
I saw that was coming up. Seem a bit strange to camp 20 min from my house but it sounds fun.
Learning to chop lots of shapes including opens has really helped me when playing in jams. I use the open chord and let them ring a bit more to fill when the guitar is taking a break. Depending on...
Wow... that poor Loar was taken from the 70's to -25 from one day to the next. Scary!
I fiddled around with one for about 30min in a music store, went to lunch, then went straight back to the music store and bought it. I've been hooked ever since.
Was the second part in 7/8? It sure sounded like it. About half way my wife leaned over and whispered "He is not human."
I saw him in Scottsdale on Thursday. It was amazing! After the concerto he played 4 solo pieces, that was a real treat. My wife and I managed to get seats in the second row so we were right up front...
