Your interpretation is correct. 11/2004, 28th F-style 'cello.

    Re: Weber Yellowstone Experts

August was the build month for the other fella's mandocello. Yours was March. The last two digits of the serial number represent the month. So -03 would be March. In his case it was -08, so August.

    Re: Weber Yellowstone Experts

Bruce might have specific specs for that serial number that list the color. I’m leaning towards faded leather burst, but I could be wrong. It’s been 17yrs since I finished that mando . Desert Dawn...

    Re: Weber Yellowstone Experts

It would be the 2301st F-style mandolin. Those numbers are based on body style, not just sum total of all instruments.
The others are correct, March 2005. Oval Hole. Would have an ebony board/PH...

    Re: Weber Yellowstone Transformation

    Chuck, you do recall correctly.
And you’re absolutely right, every mandolin is different. I stripped countless guitars and mandolins over my 15 yrs in the business. In fact my first task working...

    Re: Weber Bitterroot

Hi Vern! Good to hear from you! It's been a long time.
If memory serves me correctly, by 2012/2013 the standard Bitterroot A was maple body/neck, spruce top, ebony board, and satin Buckskin finish....

    Re: Weber Bitterroot

based on the serial #, your mando was completed in February 2013 and would have been one of the last mandos to leave the Montana shop before we packed everything up and moved to Bend at the end of...
  13. Re: Looking for my old Weber Custom Elite F. Please help!

    Hi Trevor,
I believe Gerry is the gentleman from Ireland that I originally sold it to, who then traded it in at your shop somewhere around 2016-2017?
I'm sorry to hear of his passing. He was...
  14. Re: Looking for my old Weber Custom Elite F. Please help!

Thanks! That's the guy I originally sold it to in Ireland. I lost his contact info, so I'll reach out via ebay and see if knows the whereabouts!
  15. Re: Looking for my old Weber Custom Elite F. Please help!

Hi everyone. Still hoping this mando turns up. I suspect it currently resides in Europe somewhere?

Re: Weber Fern A - Varnish

That looks to me like January, 2016 based on the serial number. Which would make it a Two Old Hippies, Bend, OR made instrument.
  18. Re: Looking for my old Weber Custom Elite F. Please help!

Thanks Kevin! I appreciate your kind words. I remember your Fern. 'Twas a hoss!
  19. Looking for my old Weber Custom Elite F. Please help!

Hi everyone. I was the Weber finish guy for 12 years and I’m on the hunt for my old Weber Custom Elite. Serial number 5000. I spent a total of 4 years working on that mandolin. Unfortunately I had to...

Re: Weber Gallatin A with with repairs

That's a poor repair job. I've seen mint condition Gallatin A's for that price, used but not abused Absaroka models, and Gallatin F's in the same ballpark. I think the seller is overly optimistic...
