    Re: Favorite Acoustic Amps?

This is what I use for small gigs. I've utilized it with a mixer and two condenser mic's to power a full bluegrass band for an outdoor gig. Furthermore, this one now comes with rechargeable battery...

Re: Why I Don't Listen To Country Music.

The great thing is that artists continue to create what pleases them, despite what the tyrants in their ivory towers deem worthy of the airwaves. :) Sing, dance, create joyfully!

    CD Release, 'Lonesome Troubadour'

    Dearest Bretheren of the Mandolin,

I've released my third songwriter CD entitled, 'Lonesome Troubadour'. There's mandolin peppered throughout, but it's really an Americana CD.

    The title cut...

Re: Have you named your mandolin?

I refer to my instruments by their given names. My Ellis is called, 'My Ellis'. Guess what I call my Weber and my Gibson?
  11. Re: Band busted for selling fake high end guitars

This is a fitting story for a 'Stupidest Criminals' show. One day at band practice, "Hey Guys, what if we....?"

Re: Ever regret having gotten an A-style?

I've seen many scrolls that hardly represent fine craftsmanship and in such instances, an A would definitely be preferable. I have an f and a couple A's... Means nothing to me. I just love fine...

    Re: Blue Chip Picks Wow!

I realized, with some astonishment, that I'd purchased 6 blue chip picks. I have three TPR 60's for mandolin and two thumb picks for dobro. We all know the price, so add that up and I've got quite an...

Re: Who is the ASCAP ?

I've heard that you need a BMI/ASCAP license for street busking, though I've not heard of anyone being fined.

It's fun to grab a corner in the French Quarter and try to make some dining money.
  18. Re: If you DIDN'T win the MT, what was your actual entry?

This MT2 Mandolin would most appropriately be named Anna Magdalena, for the second wife of Johann Sebastian Bach. Her work as a copyist of her husband's copositions is well documented and as such,...

    Re: In Case of Theft.

Re: Name That Collings Mandolin and Win It!

I had to truncate my eloquent thesis to fit into the paltry 250 characters as well.

It'll be interesting to see who wins with what name.

    Re: Small portable pa

I paid $300 for my used AC60 and $199 for my AKG C3000B. The Bose Tonematch costs $499 and the L1 a grand. I got the idea from Bose. I've played through both.... for the cost, it's not an upgrade......

    Re: Small portable pa

L1 with a mixer, which cost as much as the Roland, would be an improvement.
