Hey Jordan, really enjoyed your set at Pagosa. Thanks, Cheryl.
Here's Hilburn #62 after about 6 weeks in my possession. Playing a Reischman tune, Greenwood.
I'm guessing your banjo player is hooked on placebos. Even if he quits, it won't make any difference.
Is there any way to turn off the chord diagrams and make the fonts for the chords really big?
I'd take a matched quartet from Joe Campanella Cleary in the Dué body shape. I'd get one of everything I could talk Jim Hilburn into making me, too, to fill out the 10.
Now that's the perfect quartet, oval A, ff F5, ff dola, and oval cello. Stunning really. I imagine you'd be smiling more if you weren't concentrating so much on not letting one crash to the floor.
Does he drive that UPS truck as fast as he plays? :disbelief:
Too cool. Way to go, Sam.
Oops. Time for new glasses.
There's one more reasonably priced at Carter Vintage. http://cartervintage.com/mandopage/mandopage.html Also a Loar and a couple Ferns for good measure.
I saw Kasey at Telluride several years ago--really enjoyed her stage presence and her music. What a treat for you!
I'm not a fan of the "dreaded black tongue." I'd rather see it SamBushWhacked right off there.
Yes. And it makes a great bolo tie.
Rowan's "New Moon Rising" CD with the Nashville Bluegrass Band is outstanding too. As is his "Bluegrass Boy" CD.
Trent, you do a fine job backing up the singer, tasteful, not too busy, supporting the singer, not distracting from the singer. Well done, sir.
It's great to see all the work you've done in the prototype stages bearing such wonderful fruit! I've enjoyed watching you develop these via the cafe. Hope to get to play one some day. And I'm...
Is the cable just hanging down? If so, I'd try making a loop of the whole mic cable and connector and stuffing that in your back pocket. You could fasten a bit of it to the gooseneck arm too with...
I've been happy with the K&K pickups through a great preamp like the Radial ToneBone PZ Pre. I didn't like the Fishman bridge pickup I had.
Cumberbund Gap or Cummerbund Gap, but then you'll have to wear tuxedos.
Sounds wonderful. Great playing!
Thanks, guys. I think Jim's building as good a mandolin as anyone these days.
Here's a Monroe tune on it.
Here's a quick sample of Hilburn #62. I've had it a week now and just put some new strings on so it's a bit buzzy on the wound strings. But it really sings. Playability is top notch--very low tension...
Looks like a less complicated ToneBone PZ-Pre, especially since it runs off of phantom power. As little EQ as I use on the PZ Pre, this might do the trick in a smaller box with no wall wart needed.
It's great to see you getting these designs into production, Marty. I'm very impressed with your work. They all sound great!
Yessir, Marty, you are on to something good. Keep up the great work.
