I think this is a great idea! In my opinion, this could easily result in as much money for the Cafe as the raffle/sale itself.
The mandolin looks great! Thank you to all involved in this project.
Believe me, I am very grateful! It's actually $15 now, I forgot they raised the price. My friend usually gets the tickets and I pick up dinner before the show.
I know it's not the same, but you...
It really is about the best $10 I spend every month. We have these the last Wed. of every month. Thanks WDVX
If it matters at all, I liked the mandolin specific classifieds. Thanks Scott, Dan, Jamie, et al. for hosting my favorite site on the internet.
GPMH,
If you do end up working out a "Theme From Endless Summer" version for the mando, I would be very interested in getting the notation or tab for that. I've noodled around a bit w/ that and...
It's great to see Butch w/ a mando in his hands! That oval hole from Collings is definitely sweet. Have fun and thanks for the pictures.
I keep my MAS under control by limiting myself to one F-hole and one oval hole. I play both of them about the same. If I absolutely have to have a mandolin I come across... I know it means I will...
Ted, I always appreciate the time and effort you put into keeping us that aren't able to attend up to date on everything happening at NAMM. Thanks, I'm looking forward to it.
I have always liked this one Gary Vessel came up with. I think it looks straight out of a Dr. Seuss book.
That sounds great Chip. Enjoy.
I just now saw this thread for the first time. Bill, that mandolin is absolutely gorgeous! Great work! I love the burst and the back... and pretty much everything about it. I already forget who said...
Believe it or not, some people pay more for those blemishes. Enjoy!
Pick more, be happy.
I'll be watching The Masters and trying to play that piano part on the mandolin. I'm not very good at figuring things out be ear.
I believe they do it for the exposure they get using ebay and just absorb the listing fees. They probably don't expect anyone to actually pay that.
FWIW, In my Fall 2005 Mandolin Magazine issue Andy is quoted as saying..."It's a Gibson A2Z snakehead from 1922 or '23"
I don't know why I was thinking it was "Broken Motor" from The Earl Brothers? Maybe I just thought it would make good theme music for Car Talk....
It has been awhile since I've listened, but it used to be The Earl Brothers.
"yes! no! yes! no! yes! no!"

Here he is w/ Hank Jr
Great job Scott! Good luck w/ the violin.
My bad Chip, I guess I got a little too excited. I did see it in the classifieds.
What did you pick up recently?
"... Did you see that Dudenbostel in the classifieds?"
Well, that's one sure fire way. Sweet! Pics and soundclips would be appreciated if you have the means and inclination. Enjoy.
Very nice Red! Thanks for sharing.
"Definitely a stand out compared to what else I saw along Broadway that night."
