You're right if it's back bowed you would loosen it.
If there's to much bow towards the body and you tighten the truss rod it flattens the fingerboard and would lower the action.

If you have a peg winder take the strings off the posts that are sticking. Then wind those posts several times and it may help them turn smoother.

Why not just ask Tom then? He's the one who'd know the answer.
Soak it in coffee or tea.
I'm going to guess this is where he went.

You're crazy!! ;)
2 mandolins were listed today as make offer and this isn't the first time an instrument has been listed this way. Isn't that what Ebay is for? I believe the owners know what they want to get for the...
Any update on the recovery of the instruments?
I would say they lean more towards a 20's Fern tone than a Loar tone. I like the balance and projection that they have. His price is $7500 right now but he's thinking about raising it.

I believe it's 2004.

A lot of speculation on why Tim O'Brien went back to his A model. Here in his own words he explains why:
"After Hot Rize I electrified my A model and rarely looked back, and the F-5 mostly lay...
Isn't the asking price for a used Nugget around $25K? So, $30K with it's history doesn't seem out of line to me.
What it the price of a new Nugget?
No, he always has a few available. I just tend to like the ones he's hanging onto.
