I doubt seriously that a commercial woodworking shop (see the definitions above) of any sort would be covered by homeowner's insurance.

I think I was a lot more impressed with the show at age 8 than I would be now. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif
If I remember correctly that was music used on the show. The first section was used as the closing theme.
This is why I don't play "Rosy O'Grady." http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif
If you can't get to that F#, it is a severe problem. I would suggest going the other way away from the approved mandolin method and play it more like what is the approved method for the guitar. You...
It's definitely a mental block. You think you have to play differently to play at the higher speed and one or both of your hands tense up. It's the jump in speed that's bothering you. The usual...
The Easman tailpiece does not open. You have the right idea about feeding the loop. The spacing between the 'hooks' is small so I advise squeezing the string loops on the fresh strings a bit with a...
Yep, F-holed mandolins were specifical designed to increase volume compared to similar oval-holed mandolins. One of the trade-offs is a noticeable reduction in sustain.
Grace notes, indeed. Usually in fiddle tunes they are intented for the violin, but often they can be managed with a hammer-on or pull-off on the mandolin. Picking them separately usually makes them...
It's looks off center. It shouldn't hurt anything. If it rattles again you could try a scrap of cloth between the strings and the metal of the tailpiece.
The original G-strings that came on the Eastman Bowlback appear to be about .034, which is the same gauge as the D'Addario J62 set and the Martin M-400. I'm not fond of the sound of the original...
The Fender Heavy is a good place to start, inexpensive and good tone on most mandolins.
He's fast, for sure. But for me that's crossed over from the realm of music into just noise, YMMV. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif
I remember tunes well. Lyrics not so well. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Oh, my. It doesn't look like it's worth what the shipping would cost.
I wouldn't. #Each of them deserves a home with someone who can play much better than I ever will be able to. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
No, Martin As don't have the volume of an F5 style. But, comparing them to Mid-MOs and Flatiron pancakes which are also appropriate for all the music he plays (except perhaps the bluegrass tunes)...
Hope you enjoy it. #It probably would fit fine in a TC case, but I see Elderly doesn't sell the case separately. There is a possibility it might fit in a banjo gig bag, but you'd need to check that...
The Webers I've played, including the oval holes and OMs all seem to have been made precisely to deemphasize sustain, which is the way you want it for Bluegrass chop and blazing fast picking. I think...
Yep, at full speed you should be hitting both strings. Basically, you just move the pick across the strings rather than trying to pluck them. A flat stroke works better than a swinging stroke....
I wouldn't put anything heavier than Martin M400s or D'Addario J62s on it. Mediums like J74s are likely to wreck it
Any book of bagpipe marches will do for Scottish. Ignore any grace notes and remember that written bagpipe music often doesn't show any sharps, but it's all played in D major....
[QUOTE]Does the Mandolin Fakebook have any tabbed notes or is it just chords and lyrics?
Yes it's all tab, with chords and lyrics.
You found a good way to start a fight. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Like me, I think most people who know notation think it's worth knowing for the wealth of...
Plus you need both an Irish and a Greek Bouzouki. #A three-string Russian domra would be nice to jam with when you meet with the balalaika guys....
