Thank you for this extremely thoughtful and informative reply. When you are writing out the chord progression do the backslash and hyphen indicate the same thing?
Thanks... Gary
Wow, thanks for the replies. This is a lot of helpful info for me to absorb. Here is a version of SGB that is blowing me away.

What a great tune! I have loosely played it over the years but am now trying to firm it up a bit in my repertoire. I am trying to decide what key to settle into. I have listened to several versions...
Thank you
The button on one of my tuners is loose from its shaft and I am wondering what is the best way to fasten it back on. Neither the button or shaft looks damaged in any way.
Thanks... Gary

Anything with Kirk Sutphin on it.
I have been listening to alot of Bessie Smith with Louis Armstrong doing the acompaniement. Besides just being so inspirational, Louis's blues playing is extremely melodic.Much of his solos and licks...
Dizzy Gillspie and his trumpet.
Armstrong made medallions that were very ornate. He gave us each one. I cannot find mine after all the years but I believe my buddy Doc stilll has his.
His playing on Dark Eyes sounds like he has listened alot to Dave Apolon.
Thanks all for sharing. As a college student in the late 70s we brought MB and A in for a concert. They stayed at our home and we played music all night. Carl will always be my hero!!!!
