It seemed that we got more acoustic, bluegrass and country on Letterman's show than the other late night talk shows; Chris Thille Marty Stewart, Steve Martin and his banjo award, etc. Am I correct...
When do we get a review?

Red,
When are you or your son Chris going to do another Monroe Style mandolin instructional DVD for Murphy Method? We need a follow-up DVD of other Monroe tunes; a volume 2 to Chris's previous...
Killing some time before a sales call at an indoor Flea Mkt in Seymour, IN, found the above LP. Should be good listening!!!

Just came into possession of above. Seems like it's worth $30 or so per Amazon. I'd rather keep it than sell it for that little money. I could frame it for display in my family room but then all...
Where can I get back hinges for an original gibson case for a early 70's Gibson A5 mandolin case (w/orange padding inside). The back hinges say Japan on them.
Thanks, RB250
Hey Gang,
I just picked this up and it's great. If you want to hear Bill's mandolin breaks / solos clear as a bell, it's all here. This is the CD to learn Monroe style off of. I hear the earlier...
I recently picked up a 1916 A1 and it sounds great. Great sustain and good high notes. Good for bluegrass as well.
I recently purchased a 1916 A1 Gibson. It's got well repaired cracks on top and isn't in the condition of yours but still looks great and WOW, what a sound. So much that I've passed on some other...

Nice Red Diamond A on Chicago Craigslist.
Thanks Fox. Will superglue work a well on the buttons?
I've got a 1918 Gibson A with tuning problems and keeping it in tune. Some of the buttons on the machines seem loose and the machines are hard to tune. Can this be corrected or should I consider...
I recently purchased a 1916 A-1 Gibson. Good price and great sound, and I can live will the repaired top cracks. I like the sustain and I play bluegrass. I have a 1918 A as well but this A-1...
Marty was a the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago last Sat night but I missed the show. Would someone who was there tell me what I missed. Thanks
Lord have mercy that's good! One of my favorite Monroe tunes. Can somebody tab out the mando break and post it?
I agree with Capt E that it's an A1. Top and bottom are bound but fingerboard is not raised. Neck was not bound. And yes the flamed Maple looked like it would clean up real nice. But some guys...
Big space between 1282 and 5. Is this an A50?

Anybody know what this Gibson is? No label but 1282 5 number on inside. Has a truss rod. Is this an early 30's A00 and what's...
Just buy Chris Henry's Monroe Mandolin DVD on Murphy Method. He does a great job of teaching that number and many other classic Monroe Tunes.
Are there any plans to release a followup CD to their "Sleep with one eye open" CD. Great bluegrass CD and we need another from Chris and Michael. I thought they had enough material in the can to...
Any opinions on the bluegrass mandolin series CD's they sell. Also any opinions on the Bluegrass Harmony Singing series of CD's. Thanks
I have a chance to get a # 30 ish MT2 made in year 2000. It sounds good and hand carved by Paul himself I'm told. But did they have the formula down at that point or am I missing out on a better...
Why not a stop in the Chicago Area? The Old Town School with a workshop as well or the same at Downhome Guitars....or a house concert or one of the folk Music clubs.

Anyone got the tab for Mike Compton's mando break in this Nashville Bluegrass Band rendition? They play it in E. Thanks,
