Although I have an Ellis A already, they still get my MAS going a bit. As do the Pava mandolins, and most Collings that I see. Not to forget Red Diamond, and many others.

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it.
I have some, somewhere. Two emails to Godin, still no reply. A simple, "sorry, can't help you," would be better than no reply at all.
I've downloaded lots of free music from Amazon. Thanks for the heads up.
Hey! You think it's easy taking pix for internet ads?
I saw him play solo back in September. Outstanding! I now have a bunch of his CD's.
I emailed Godin first. No reply yet. It may have to go to my luthier.
Hey, I need to adjust the relief on my A8, but I can't find a tool that fits. It needs a nut driver but the pocket is too tight for any tool in my kit. Any ideas?
I carry my two BC picks in a little "pick cozy" that attaches to my keychain. I love them!
It looks good. Somebody is going to get a deal.
How is the intonation now? Perfect, or nearly perfect? Or somewhat nearly perfect?
I looked at the Moongazer page and found it to be kind of confusing. Did you order the $45 bridge (OMF4UP) at the top of the page or one of the bridges just below? (4NPBS or 4NPRS)
Congrats to those of you who have the bucks and the inclination to buy multiple high-end mandolins. Buying my Ellis 2 1/2 years ago took me out of the market. I'm glad that Tom is staying in the...
Once I installed an armrest I never took it off.
I have Bell armrests on my two mandolins. They are comfortable and help to open up the sound.
As an aside, I've belonged to this forum for years and I've hardly ever seen Ron's name mentioned,...
I do, too, and use a Bailey strap.
So's mine. I like it a lot. Although I'm used to a radiused fingerboard, I have no problem with the flat board.
The Lee Konitz technique: know the melody, then play it over and over, embellishing it slightly each time through.

I wrote this in the other Fender emando thread. This is almost the only thing I write about these days.
You can play a tune on a homemade carrot flute:

This is a link to the shop that made the compensated saddles for my original Fender emando. The...
I've mentioned this before, so forgive me if you've heard it from me. I had Armadillo Machine shop in Austin make me compensated saddles for my old Fender emando. Tele players do this all the time....
Of course, Jimmy Page played a Tele when I heard him with the Yardbirds. Also glad someone mentioned Albert Collins. Bottom line, it's not always the tool, sometimes it's the workman (or woman).
Regarding relics, I have seen a few that I liked, including the Tele that's hanging up at the store where I teach. I'm not passionate about this. To each, his or her own.
The intonation is the biggest issue with an original Fender electric mandolin. Like the classic Tele bridge, the mandolin originally had uncompensated saddles (two, not three). As I mentioned...
