  1. Re: First three tunes/songs you learned first

    1st - Japan
    2nd - Blackberry Blossom
    3rd - Whiskey Before Breakfast

In retrospect, Japan isn't the stereotypical "first song" but it sure was fun and I still love to play it so... :mandosmiley:

With my Tone-Gard and McClung armrest I can hug my mando all I want without affecting it's tone and volume. I love it. And so does my mando! Thanks, Tony!
  8. Re: What Pro-level mandos have you played and how would you rate

I use the backside of my key and pull to make them curl like ribbons. Nice and soft and won't pierce you
  9. Re: What Pro-level mandos have you played and how would you rate

I'll just soldier on with my Breedlove. I've played a limited number of mandolins and even fewer high dollar ones. I really liked it when Danny Roberts let me play his Loar. Thanks, Danny!

  13. Re: Am I Cynical or Maybe On To Something About Camps?

I was thinking the same thing. It's a matter of perspective and position when you boil it down. A $30 supper doesn't make much of a dent when you make $100,000/yr but if you're only making $25,000...

Re: Type of Mandolin for slower music

Either oval or F hole will suit you but you need to play a few and pick which one is best to your taste. I like f-holes because the sound is crisper and three's more bite to it. Oval are more...
