    Re: Brad Laird Lessons......Opinions....

    Don't let the name fool you but give Banjo Ben Clark's Site a look-see. He has a ton of excellent Mando tabs and video instruction for $5 bucks a month, He responds to email, and in general is a...
  2. Re: Weber Fine Acoustic Instruments Joins Two Old Hippies

    Big Weber fan, and am very much enjoying my recent Oval Bitteroot F. This being said, the Weber family appears to be heavily involved in this merger, with Bruce Jr going to Bend, Bruce himself...

    Re: trade-ins?

    I have traded in on other instruments with two dealers; TMS and Mando Mutt and would do it again. Its true you're going to get less then if you sell it outright. In those cases that I dealt with...

  7. Re: Got My New my F5G Custom Wide Nut Today From The Mandolin Sto

    Congrats Bob;

    Looks great. TMS does a good job of answering questions, I've worked both Dennis and Brian....they know their stuff.

    Really Glad to see that Gibson is coming back, after that...
  8. Re: Ok...so I have $2000 to spend, what should I do?

    Okay, so TMS has two mando's that would qualify to the OP. A used wide nut Lafferty F syle and a Breedlove F Style, also wide nut I believe. Both look like very good deals. Kyle Dunns Mando Shop...

  11. Re: Ok...so I have $2000 to spend, what should I do?

    Bruce;

    Duly noted. I have had good experiences with him too. I realize that Lafferty's are American built with recent models at a low price point coming from PACRIM.

    I think everyone would...
  12. Re: Ok...so I have $2000 to spend, what should I do?

    No one is suggesting Dennis is not "being a straight shooter", sorry you couldn't see that. I've dealt with him and his son numerous times, and gotten good deals.

    As I mentioned, If I had...
  13. Re: Ok...so I have $2000 to spend, what should I do?

  16. Re: Is the Loar LM-600 a decent beginner mandolin?

    Re: Advice--Breedlove or Weber

    Cant really go wrong with either model. The SE is essentially a Bitterroot without binding. Both great values. THe wide nut helps if you are coming over from the guitar world. Good luck, Weber...

    Re: Advice--Breedlove or Weber

    As a former Weber SE owner, I would recommend the model to any one. Fair price, good build, very good sound. If you are coming over to the mando from guitar, you may consider the wider nut spacing...
