I recently switched to Telefunken picks for electric bass, my band wanted a pickier attack on 2 songs. I order them, loved them on bass, and decided the other day to use one on my mando. WoW!

Love all the other stuff, would love to complete the set! Can't wait.
Thanks for sharing this cool tune. I purchased 2 versions of this on iTunes and love it.
Hi, I'll chime in on this one. I would love to possibly get together and pick a few. I have a problem. I can pick 'em clean and well with youtube or CDs but seem to fall apart playing with others....
I like my Trinity OM for the 'Americana' type jams I go to. I also like it for some 'deadhead' style jams I do too, lots of overlap on tunes actually...
Thanks for the support, I will be proudly sporting pics, youtubes & sound clips I hope. I feel a sick day coming on in about 8 weeks, hope it's a sunny day when that lovely brown truck arrives.
Ok, So I've been on the phone with Walt a few times this week & it's official! I am going to be the proud owner of a Gypsy OM!!! We're going a little deeper on the body and an little smaller on the...
Cool Shaun, thanks for the bump, I searched twice, not sure how I missed it.
iTunes is cooking away as I type. Already spent the week's lunch money...
I have Bob W's simple songs (really good), and John M's book and CD. What I am looking for now are some good albums (new or all time faves) that put the OM out there in some / most / all songs. ...
When I use D'addario strings on my OM, I use J80s. I also use John Pearse 2280s and currently have GHS PF285's on. First time on the GHS and I like 'em pretty good.
I would be more than willing to try one if anyone wants to buy one and send it to me. :)

sorry for your news...
I am surprised no one suggested 'buy more mandolins, picks, tuners, books, dvds, etc' to become a real 'monster'? so buying all this stuff and reading the cafe 10 hours a day wont make me better?
Noodling is what the bass player does in between songs that ticks everyone off.
Noodling is what I do between songs waiting for the banjo to tune or re-tune or whatever they have to do for a half...
Jim I'd agree on the tab sites, we may have just found the very first example of something on the internet that is not true!!! I am almost curious enough to see whats going on to buy the book and...

Nate, the 2001 came from playing the chord on guitar and looping it back at myself till I came up with something close on the OM.
thanks for the suggestions, I will try them all,
The chords are...
Anyone have a good fingering for Dadd11/F# on mando /OM?
The closest I can come by ear is 2001. I would like to keep it as open sounding as possible, but am open to any and all options. I know is...
Cool! thanks for the update! I am already working with Dave on a new bridge. I have a couple cast TPs (one off an Eastman, one off a Paris Swing) that I may try, if not, I will go with an Allen. ...
So, just curious, how are you guys (and gals) enjoying the TC Octaves after the modifications, and some time?
I have one, still stock, other than strings, and looking to hot-rod it a bit/.
Just tell them the steel strings do the trick...
Then see if they try it.
