Has anyone seen or played one of Bryan England's Osborne mandolins and how was it?
Can anyone explain to me the basic differences between the F5s, i.e. F5, F5G, Fern, and Master Model?
Drunk???:))
I want to take this oppertunity to offer a "THANK YOU" for the theory lessons you have on your website. I am just beginning it and am learning so much just in the G Major section. I drive a truck...
That's exactly what I want right there. It's a BEAUTY!!!:crying:
Thanks, it was there.
Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can find the chords for this song? It is the one Mickey Gilley did in Urban Cowboy. Thanks a lot.
I guess what I'm asking is how does it work. Some of the examples I have are 1st finger, third finger and like 1st and 2nd finger combined, etc. I don't really understand what is going on here and...
I'm one of those on-again, off-again mando learners. I have the time now to devote to practice so am trying to learn all I can. During one of my on-again learning periods, I printed off some of the...
Thank all of you for your well thought-out reccomendations. I've thought about everything that was said, some kind, some not so kind and have decided to leave well enough alone. Again, thank you.

Been away from the mandolin and the Cafe for a long time, but now I'm back for good. I have a beautiful Eastman 615 that plays and sounds like a million bucks. Now, I would like to distress it and...
I haven't been around here for awhile and was wondering if the Eastmans werestill a pretty hot item around here or has most everyone graduated up?
I'm a drummer, so take this for what it's worth. There are two kinds of amps, producers and reproducers. Producers for solid body instruments and reproducers for acoustic instruments. This is not...
Been gone for a couple of years. Lost interest when the progress started slowing. Just a beginning beginne. Have been listening to a lot of bluegrass and am back into it. I don't know if it is partly...
This site is a real detriment to my practicing. I spend way too much time here and not nearly enough behind the mando. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. A sad day indeed.
WIll my nut and bridge slots on my Eastman 615 accomodate larger guage strings without any problem within reason. #I'm not talking about using a set of bass guitar strings.
Will you let us all know when they arrive? Put me down for one in XL.
Is there a particular time to use the up stroke or do you guys alternate ups and downs when playing? This may be dumb, but it is buggin' me.
A band I was in played 90% original alt-country and we called it American music.
Does the way a mando is played have an affect on the final sound that it will have when fully "broken in"? Hypothetical situation: Say that this mandolin will take exactly two years to open up. Will...
I found this sight and Eastman was pretty much all you saw posted about, so I bought one and couldn't be happier. Oh, I forgot, this was when Gordon was here. I guess that whomever took Gordon's...
THe bridge is what caught my eye. Did you build it also?
What would an axe like that set me back? That is one of the coolest mandos from an independent builder I've seen. QUite impressed. You can...
