That two point is up my alley. Inspires me to start building again rather than messing about.
Most beautiful one I've seen yet I think. I want it. Let's hear it please.
Bearclaw?
:disbelief:
That is stunning.
The thought of doing that to a Weber makes me very sad. Just sayin.....
Very smart look I think.
Love Holst's stuff. Very creative guy and all his stuff looks very modern.
My first is a regal flat back. I don't play it because I think the top is starting to collapse and it has a few tiny splits and such, so the strings are very loose. While I could play it, it played...
That thing looks awesome! Very rustic and folksy.
Had a thought that I might want to do some traveling sometime before I get established anywhere, but was wondering how I'd be able to do that and still keep working, and it hit me. Why not spend that...
I'd love to see the orchestra instruments come back. That and the oval hole mandolins.....
I have a mandolin I made with just an oil finish. I suppose it would fall in the satin finish category. It does get blotches and whatnot where I rest my arm, but it's aged so wonderfully. Looks real...
Great job. Looks really nice
Fire mandos? As in "firewood" mandolins? You must have been VERY deprived! ;)
Sound clip please! I should have known from the tuners it was a bass! Never clicked. Also didn't see the link right away. This thing just got more awesomer.
Or, if you are more adventurous like some of us are, no doubt the build's raised even more questions on how to do things "better".
Come to think of it it may also have something to do with string length. Jake's a pretty resourceful guy, so I'm sure whatever the reason this is a great solution to it.
I'd get a set of tuners from Nicolo and a tailpiece from Brian Dean or Andy Manson, but I may be slightly biased.....
Wow that looks odd, even for a banjo ;) Why do you have the tailpiece so close to the bridge?
Get a strip of 0.24"x0.25" purfling, and glue it to your binding..........
Yessir, this is quite something innit?
^THAT is awesome
Not sure this is the area to post this, but considering the section itself is about showing off the work of builders I thought it would fit well enough.
My request is to put a new section for all...
