    Re: Musicians and hats

I bought a brown Bollman bowler a year or so ago, but I need to find an appropriate ensemblé to wear it in public. The purchase was inspired by my love of all things related to Brisco County Jr........

    Re: Gravity picks

I'm not crazy about the bevels on my Gravity Gold 1.5mm picks.
  3. Re: Making a $40 Rogue mando play like a dream. It is possible!

I am very impressed with my Rogue considering the price I paid for it. The tone is fine, just not very loud. I'm amazed that the intonation is as good as it is.

    Re: Thicker primetone picks

Bill, I work for the USPS, and I cringe whenever a customer needs to send a package to Italy.
Italy has THE longest list of restrictions ever.

    Re: Thicker primetone picks

I like smaller 2.5 to 3.0mm picks for electric guitar, but slightly larger sized 1.5mm picks are the sweet spot to me for mandolin and mandola...
  10. Re: Blue Chip Picks - Help Understanding Different Types

I agree with mandoglobal...the BlueChip site shows the relative shapes and thickness but trying to determine how big or small a particular pick is, is kind of cryptic.

    Which BlueChip picks are...

Re: New to Blue-Chip-Never looking Back !

Buy a bunch of really bright LED flashlights...one can never have too many flashlights...or picks...and don't forget the batteries.

Seriously, I WILL buy a Blue Chip pick before the year is over,...

    Re: Rob's Mandolin Set-up eBook

    Thanks Rob!!!
I just got my Rogue RM-100A a couple days ago.
Actually sounds and plays pretty good right out of the box.

Re: Odd question about Ukulele and Mando duets

My wife and I are a ukulele/mandolin duo (very informal). I usually use my mandola since it blends better with her tenor uke. She strums the chords and sings, while I noodle around with...

Re: Questions on a Dobro Mandolin

I have one of those that I bought new in 1985. I should have cleaned it better before storing it away for 26 years. Some of the chrome is badly pitted. Hopefully I will have new strings on it soon.

    Re: Case Brothers?

Well I just tried another search and the first hit was an obituary on Bluegrass Today for "Gibson" dated a few years ago. So sad.

Edit: his real name was Bob Mavian.

    Case Brothers?

I don't know where else to go with this, but if anyone can answer this question it would have to be someone here.

Many years ago I saw a guitar/mandolin/vocals duo at Musikfest in Bethlehem PA.
