As weird as it sounds, sometimes you just want to spend more money on something. Do they sound better then say a Golden Gate pick, IMO not really. You’re just in the music store spending money on...
Little late on the replay, but in case anybody else is looking for freeware music programs I ran acrossed a good list. There are a handful of Sequencers.

It is kind of ironic. To the average Joe Public, Orville’s name if forever immortalized for guitars he could have only imagined in his dreams. I bet he would really rock out on a ES345.
The EMP in Seattle has a Orville guitar on display. It’s got the same look with a hand-carved top and finish. Really a site to see in person, pictures do not do these justice. The caption says...
I've always called it Hippie Grass.
You should post some of your stuff on youtube, I'd love to hear it http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
McQuires the car wax?
I really like the finish
That is funny http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif . What type of marketing genius would slap the words “New York” on a southern rooted instrument? Reminds me of that...
You would be throwing away good money on that mandolin. I’ve never heard or played that particular mandolin but a brand new flashy F style for $240…I’m sure it’s unplayable junk. Save up ~$600 and...
Not sure about mando shops but there is a great two story CD shop on decor street. I forgot the name but its near the House of Blues. It’s filled with local band CD’s and calibrations. There is some...
With respect for the fine Eastman craftsmanship, 3-4k sounds a bit on the high side. Their mandolins usually sell for under $2,000. This looks like a big price hike for what is essentially an Eastman...
A mandolin just like that sold on ebay about a year ago for $3,800. Thread
In hind-sight I should have bought it. I would have worked out better then my “Safe” real estate investments.
These little things are so freaking expensive that when you find a deal on a quality mandolin it’s irrelevant if the fret board is radius or flat.
That sounds about right. Slightly more then I would pay, but it is brand new. If your looking to buy an A-9 I would watch Ebay for a few weeks. You can get one thats a few years old cheaper.
Where are not talking about microbes or earthworm habitat. We are talking about an animal that is rightfully on the endangered spices list. Make any excuse you want, using a TS pick is bad karma put...
The karma argument is about endangered spices. The death of other living organisms is the only way to sustain life, there is nothing wrong with that. It’s just like hunting and fishing. You should...
*please read as conversation not argument
The karma argument is valid. To say using a TS pick is the same as using a leather strap or MOP is ridiculous. Cows/Shell fish are not on the endangered...
Antique, not expensive, misinformed.. It’s still bad karma going into your music. They may not be on the edge of extinction, but they are on the endangered species list. I don't think there is a gray...
I have to replace some frets on a 2003 Gibson. Does anybody have any suggestions/experience or places to avoid in the Seattle area? I did a search, but I’m really not sure what word “Repair” is in...
I found a nice side bound mint condition Loar tambo, is this the one you where offered?
Loar Side bound Tambo
Out of the 49, do you know how many had a Virzi installed?
How do you markup your mandolin? I’ve always been jealous of that “Distressed” looked, and would like to “naturally” mark my mandolin up a bit. Unfortunately, my picking doesn’t come close to...
Does this book have notation?
With the praise the book is getting and the song list I'm thinking of picking it up.
Are you good at reading email headers? I’m curious if the pictures (assuming email) actually originated in the UK.
I think it’s a scam but that smiley face boarder they are using is sure...
I'm not an expert but Gibson seems to use Spruce top, Maple neck, back and sides.
That combo with f holes gives a good bluegrass bark
