Weekly bump...
OK, so I listen to a wide variety of music...
And the other day, I'm on an 80's metal kick, listening to some classic Iron Maiden, and I realized that you could almost do some of their tunes...
I still know next to nothing about Macs, but my wife now has a Mac laptop, so I'll see if I can piddle around and come up with something...

[Thought I'd give this post its yearly bump...]
Got the mid-winter blues? Bored with the monotony of your current mandolin existence? Do you need something to "kick it up a notch"?
We have...
Jbrwcky,
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it. It was a bit intimidating, knowing we only had the one shot to record it, but I suppose it raised the bar a bit and made us concentrate more! ha

Bobby's picking on this tune has always given me the chills (in a good way)...
Is it just me, or is this tune/version way up at the top of anyone else's all-time mando instrumentals list?
I...
Bobby can still pick, too...
A couple years ago I was at the Cherokee Festival in NC, and the Osbornes were playing (I think just before Sonny retired). Anyhow, I talked with Bobby after their...

I think it sold for $4700!!! That's a good price: I paid over a grand more for mine. But, I'm absolutely satisfied with mine, and plan on keeping it as my main mando "forever", so I...

Sorry I haven't replied, but it has been a busy week!
I'm glad you like your Lawson model. I like the bound f-holes, pretty neat. This past January, I went to SPBGMA, and played a...

I've got Steffey #20, and am very pleased with it.

This one belongs to a buddy of mine, who hopefully won't mind me posting the picture. Its a late-90's Hutto Fern, with a beautiful dark burst. Powerful mids and highs, although a tad thin on the...

Speaking of Dean Webb...
Has anyone else noticed how he holds the mandolin when soloing? He hikes the body of the mandolin up, near his right armpit, so that his right forearm is actually coming...
