hmmm..... seen it somewhere....maybe ..nah...so soon?
I have always wondered why they are called short neck, the necks are the same, just set down deeper into the body. The scale is the same, yet a big difference in sound. I know that most will not...
Neck repair? That may be the reason for the bad pictures.
I don't personally know this as fact. It was posted on a thread here by a custom mandolin builder a while back as an answer to my post asking why birch was not used anymore. Hope no builder takes...
None, but you can exchange receipts and tracking numbers by faxing after shipping.
I don't think either are maple. Birch is my guess. There may have ben some F2 with maple, I have never seen one, though I did have an A3 with beautiful maple, and one could easily see the difference.
You mean a real A model?

[QUOTE=lenf12;1251825]Is that a mildly figured maple back (and sides?) on this F-2? That could certainly help justify the BIN $3500 imo.

[QUOTE] F2s are birch backed, sides ? not maple,...
After some experience with a few F2s, I have decided to stick with the A model. The A's sound much better to me and cost a third as much. Has anyone else found this? The F2 just do not have the sound...
I would say 1100 but if in that good a shape then more, and if it has that sound you like another 200 maybe. However I would not offer that, that would take all the fun out of horse trading.
There's an A4 snake crawling in the Classifieds. I wish I could compare sounds with my paddlehead A4.
If you open a case through Ebay or Paypal, they will make you wait a week and expect the seller to co-operate. Then after 7 days upgrade to a claim and then you will see some results. Every time I...
It's one of my favorites too. I love it on Harmonica also. I read once that his mandolin is a Gibson copy, hand made to the Gibson specs, but forgot by who.
Someone in Texas I think, maybe someone...
Seems like Snakeheads have doubled in the last 3 yrs. IMO, F5 Loars are overpriced, whereas the F4 in excellent condition may have increased in value. Like everything else, it's supply and demand,...
The price and year look close to me, however I would guess refinish. So what?, if it has a good sound , who cares. You can offer and they will negotiate most instruments, it is expected. They also...
I have seen a few sell in the $2/500 range on EBAY. I have also seen many for sale for much higher prices. I do not think they sold. Check them on EBAY.
I played one a couple years ago. It was a beauty, but had no volume at all.
Summertime
IMO* With your love for the BL and the music you play, I would stick with it, keep it and just add a mandolin by spending a thousand for a good old Gibson A. It likely will have a greater volume and...
Maybe I have written an original melody? ....I wish. Joy to the world was not difficult, in fact very easily recognized, but it's much more familiar, and on the hard drive of the mind. Does anyone...
slow, key of G , I could tab it but thought someone might know from the notes. CRS taking over.
bump ...no one?
from the melody notes. GBACBG...GBACBD...BCDEEEDCBG....ABCBAG
He thought his seller's remorse was in remission. That's better than some of the ads I have seen in the Classifieds where they are advertising to find some mandolin they sold a couple years back, and...
Not that I am aware of. Personally I would use this as an opportunity to file new strings groves if any are off or to narrow or widen to your preference. I have played with the width of the strings...
