Michael,
Sorry to hear you are dropping the class, but I get it. I am paddling like mad to keep my head above water and it's taking me much more time than I anticipated. I considered dropping...

You should be. We don't even get to see the logo on the headstock.

Yeah, that was the promo for his CD Release Party at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, MA, which I went to and had a really fine time. When Jimmy gets together with Duke Levine, it's magic. I've seen...

I have a pair of Neumann KM 184's as well. I agree with you to a point. They are useful on a variety of sources including acoustic intruments as well as drum overheads. However, have you tried a...

On my forum (The Gathering) I have a tune of the week feature involving a nominated tune which people play and discuss. It's building into...

At this link on the BBC Website there is a fascinating report about a town in what used to be East Germany where, in the late 1800s, they used to make 80% of the world's musical instruments. There is...

Ran across this on the local CL, I assume the seller is/was not the owner. If a good story adds value to a instrument then this guy is asking way too little...:disbelief: you can't make this kind of...

I find that when I send a good post to the Cafe, I'm able to play Blackberry Blossom at warp speed. The effect only lasts until I read another thread about why I shouldn't "plant" my pinky...

I thought it was an awesome thread, and facetious from the get-go. Good sense of humour they have there! Underlying it all, of course, is the obvious point that sometimes we take this stuff too...

I use one of the only 3 Lloyd Loar signed mandolin straps (SN: 8675309). He used Northern Michigan beaver felt. It's got the dovetailed possum leather end pieces.

This is so cool! We must find out who if anyone has the copyright to this image. It would make SUCH a cool t-shirt! I know I'd buy one!

I think it was cool idea, and that maple looks awesome! Yeah, I do like my tf 140s for mando, and 120s for guitar and OM, but I also like Fender Heavy, Pro Plec 1.5 mm, and Ultex picks, too. Trying...

I like it, heck I just like messing with picks to make them suit me. Great job.

Wow, nice job !!! And does the pick sounds a different way now ? :)

I like Fender heavy (351 style) in premium celluloid, a little more sparkle in the tone than the other celluloid versions. I use the medium, classic celluloid for electric playing. I can get a dark...
