    Re: Neck re-setting help needed?

If you just want to get it playable, you could go to the old quick and dirty method of slipping the block. That operation, once recommended by some luthiers, but now considered butchery, involves sawing...

    Re: Price Haggling??

I used to spend time with an old fellow who sold aged and hard to find auto parts and related stuff. He ended all negotiations the same way by simply saying "It's a fair price-" with no particular...

Got my hernia repair 15 days ago and still not quite comfortable in some positions. My doc told me yesterday that the best procedure is based on the old joke: Patient: Doc it hurts when I do dat.

Re: Help with lousy stain job?

To my old rheumy eye,any wooden thing with a deep, even shine looks good. Were it the fashion, you could charge extra for it. Few coats of good clear and a good polish is the ticket.

    Re: Making a better nut

    Re: Nut Materials: Stone?

Install a good zero fret and you can use most anything will hold its shape for the "nut". It will change the sound of your instrument for sure. Maybe you would like it and maybe not.

Re: How the heck do you ship an F-5?

The USPS person will measure the shipping box and charge accordingly,so the smallest appropiate box is best. I think the ever-resourceful Frank Ford has an item on box resizeing on his site.
