I just saw Ronnie at Grey Fox and it looked like he was using his old Gilchrist and not the Loar. He was on fire, as usual but even more so!

Yep, I'll be there!
says "out of stock" so looks like someone grabbed it quick.
I'd like to attend some of the evening concerts, as I'm local. Are non-campers able to do that?
I've known Paul for a some time now and have felt his mandolins have been under the radar for a long time. He is definitely a luthier to check out; builds mostly by hand (no CNC), develops...
Great to see!
Looks like Tony Williamson had some nice folks drop by after their performance at Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival on Saturday night...

Thanks for everything, Bruce. You've made the mandolin world an even better place!
I owned one from that era and it was really good. Wish I never sold it.
I bought a blem varnish model KM1000 from The Mandolin Store a while back that also looked like a reaction of the varnish with the case. Played/sounded great while I owned it.
that scroll looks a bit off
Not sure myself how this happened, as this is a mandolin I'm taking in on a trade. Not too concerned about appearance but wanted to make sure there was n't any future issue/damage. Sounds from the...

I've got an older Flatiron F5 that has some serious wear resulting in exposed wood (lacquer gone) on the scroll and below the E strings. Is there a certain kind of oil I could/should apply...
Seems like a lot for a Flatiron, no?
Nice, comprehensive interview Brad. She's one of my favorites...and beyond her immense talent, her wonderful sense of humility and respect for the music is equally impressive.
I found the little clubs in the evening to be great...Pour House, Tir Na Nog. They all host a ton of great bluegrass bands, up close and personal. The Awards Show was pretty cool too, with lots of...
I got both an A-model and F-model strap from Rod. Really wonderful craftsmanship, good price and a great guy in Rod. Highly recommended!!
Exciting project. Will be interested to see the details -- specs, based on Mike's Loar?, pricing?
Sharon's playing is so fluid and relaxed. Love it.
Ah, mystery solved! So odd to see Tim playing an F-model.
Noticed in this pic from the recent Grey Fox festival that Tim O'Brien was not playing his old trusty black Nugget A model...is this a Bush model Gibson??

Sweet!
[QUOTE=BradKlein;1416881]That band will be tearing it up Friday at Grey Fox BG Festival - I wish I could be there. SJ is elsewhere and so Chris Eldridge will be sitting in on mandolin and NYC...
tim is the man. I find performances like this a bit haunting...you can imagine guys playing just like this in the Appalachian Mountains 200 years ago!
Saw that as well, and am curious too. We'll have to wait for the Gibson experts to chime in...
