It's not a mistake. Your are simply ignoring many of the standard and long established uses of the word.

Soliciting advice and opinion is implicit in posting on a public discussion forum. There are plenty of other places to just look up an answer.

...and really, isn't a steel slide just an unattached capo, after all....?:)

(Is there any such thing as a steel mandolin?)

    Re: Capo Question

Huh? The issue was an alternative way of easily transposing other than a capo.
Other ways to opt in, IOW.

A capo is also a good adaptive modality for those with some physical limitations.

Indeed, though if that open string note was an important contributor to the sound, you probably wouldn't want to go this route.

All the more reason to have a variety of techniques available,...

    Re: Capo Question

Well, tell me where I misunderstand:
Three FINGER chords, which is what he said, suggest there might may be an open string, which would not be a movable shape.
Certainly not "at least as movable"...

Re: OT Puzzler -- very little mando content

Very impressive. I'm still reading, but I gave up trying to figure out some of them.
To think of any more, I think I'd need an electronic copy of the Book of Lists.

    Re: Capo Question

I'll ditto the "says who," but also, if you want to avoid a capo and still transpose easily, wouldn't learning 4 finger chords, ie, movable shapes, be more appropriate than three finger chords?

    Re: Found this case sticker

I always assumed "I could care less" implied "I could care less, but I care so little right now that it would take far more effort than it's worth."

    But maybe that's just me.

They don't. That's what he pointed out, and he's right. I now realize that that's why the original hint mentioned "the order of."

You're right! I couldn't put my finger on that distinction, but that's why I said my words may also fit.

Can you think of any other musical words that might really fit?

    How about Locrian?

OT Puzzler -- very little mando content

This was last weeks Car Talk puzzler. So, it's trivially easy to find the answer online, but that would be cheating.
