    Sometimes you just gotta tune it whether you want to or not. I think the more you play the more painful out of tune strings are.

    What helps me is to slow everything down. Way down. Then build back up gradually while enjoying being relaxed. That might not make sense but it helps me.

    Yes, go to both stores. I have yet to visit Cotten's but want to. Cotten's usually carry Collings and a Kimble or two.

    I really don't know how Carlo Aonzo does it without a strap. He does seem to adjust it occasionally but plays all the way up the neck.

    Are you aware of his website www.manndolins.com? He has info about fret size, etc. of his various models. A great guy to work with who makes great stuff.
