I think from memory they are 0.013, 0.020"W, 0.030"W, 0.042"W
They have been on such a long time (well over a year) I will have to check, I am fortunate to have hands that don't rot strings.

I have a little Stella 21 1/2" scale tenor and it had horrible intonation in both CGDA and GDAE tuning. Which was odd as it had obviously had the hell played out of it in the past including some wear...
Well that looks really odd, normaly I would have said G string nut slots too low so the string is stopped at the first fret instead of the nut, but that gives G, G, G sharp, A etc. It could still be...
Absolutey fantastic, John certainly deserves recognition for his superb musicianship. I would love him to record a CD and would be prepared to put my money where my mouth is if it came to needing...
His basic premis is wrong as the F style headstock predated Lloyd Loars arrival at Gibson by more than 10 years on the F2 / F4 etc
I would love an electric tenor like that with proper neck width and string spacing. I too thought the Eastman neck just felt plain wrong
The A string pair tends to be the most troublesome pair for a number or reasons party due to the longer length of string between nut and peg.
1 % chance it's tuners . Tightening screws on cheap...
Steve makes some fantastic mandolins, I have had TR-29 for nearly 4 years now. It has the same redwood top (looks like from the same billet) but a different but equally beautiful flamed maple rim and...
That looks and sounds beautiful, if only I had the cash I would order one today. Might have to thin the heard to recoup the funds
Indeed this would be great, the problem is specialist books with limmited markets can be hugely expensive. I would dearly love a copy of the Bidulph Guarneri del Gesu book but at £400 / $650 I just...
Be very careful it is probably a spam mail with a trojan attached. I have been seeing 10's of these evert day for the last three weeks on our server. Sometimes looking like Fedex / UPS / USPS / DPD....
well it's not impossible to make a slightly wider board work, but it really depends on the neck profile. It has been done reasonably sucessfully on one Mando I have (1900'ish J.E.Dallas highly...
Never heard of them, anyone tried them on a mando?
You will have to wait for some of the more knowledgeable bowl back experts to date it, but I can tell you you need a low non adjustale bridge on a bowl back like that. The only person I am aware of...
What a fantastic resource. Thank you so much for all your hard work Nigel
Should not be a problem as all it is doing is spacing the strings, I have a mandolin with a string spacer that measures about 1/16" thick and is made of Pearl. So either bone or a piece from a...
There are already products out there using teflon lube for strings, nuts etc

I have used this on a problem...
Very Nice
I think this is a video of you Mandolin.

OOPS, just spotted the damaged corner, so you could ask for a replacement. But that is a common repair for Violin makers and repairer to replace a partial corner, The only problem is you probably...
That should not be a problem, your going to want to put some recurve into it if its going to sound any good. I had to carve quite a bit of thickness out of the recurve on the one I did
Absolutely fantastic, a truly beautiful mandolin
Don't do it!! someone had done this on the 20's Geib case for my Majestic Tenor B**jo. I did not know until it came off all over my light coloured jeans walking to a jam. Admittedly it had been...
If you do find someone to make or repair you handle let me know. I did try our local saddle maker, but he was too busy making thousands of punds on saddles for the gentry to be interested!
Interesting, the case is a Geib same as mine judging by the construction and lock, but mine had a flat bar of spring steel 1/4" by 1/32" throught he centre. Perhaps they found the weakness early on....
