    Re: Cherry Mandolin color suggestions

I might put a lite red finish on the spruce to match the cherry. Although it looks good the way it is now in the white, so maybe just leave it blonde.

Re: Fingernails getting in the way

I keep my fingernails cut as short as I can without causing pain. Even with this my nails are too long also, so I tilt my fingers back a little so my nails dont hit the fretboard.

    Re: Finger Infection

I agree with the Epson salt, then some Neosporin (triple antibiotic). Or, if you listen to the Greeks, Windex fixes everything.

    Re: Return of MAS? HELP!

Sorry about the MAS, unfortunately there is no cure as far as I know. Only temporary fixes, luckily I just got a new mando yesterday so my MAS is under control... for now.

    Re: Mandolins in progress

Wow Keith, that cool! I never realized how big an octave mando was until now. So I'm doubly impressed.

    Re: changing strings

On an instrument that has a fixed bridge or one that has been set up, yes. If the open note and the 12th fret note are out of tune, that means the bridge position need to be adjusted.

Re: pernambuco as a finish coloring?

Use that pernambuco wisely, its an endangered species and you probably wont be able to find more for a while.

Re: New guy looking for a good mandolin

Welcome to the forum Jeremy! Any particular reason you want an Acoustic/Electric mandolin? Unless you perform a lot, the electronics add needless expense. You can get a better acoustic instrument for...

    Re: High humidity question

I keep mine in the same room as my piano and some other wooden furniture, along with a humidity gauge. All that wood absorbs the water so no one item takes to much. If the humidity is really high,...

    Re: Mandolins in progress

My first mando is underway! All I've got so far is the neck, which is just plain ole hard maple.

    Re: Looking for an upgrade

It's not just looks, I want a well rounded mando in tone, playability, and looks. MM and Loar have mandos that fit at least two, usually playability and tone with MM looking nice too, but I have a...

    Re: Looking for an upgrade

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/msg/2934280062.html I just found this on my local Craigslist page. Is this a good mando? If it is, is $700 a good price for an old Aria Pro II mandolin?

    Re: Looking for an upgrade

    Re: Looking for an upgrade

Both the classic and the classic sunburst finishes on the Eastmans look very nice, I'm just not a big fan of the shape of the neck and the radiused fret board on them. I also like the finish of the...

    Looking for an upgrade

I am in the market for a new mandolin. I'm looking in a budget of less than $1000, maybe $700-800. I would like a blonde finish or a light sunburst, unlike the burst on the Loars, with the...
