    Whats up with Mandos?

A friend has a Collings A. It’s a GREAT sounding mando. I stopped by Gruhn's the other day and played a couple of identical Collings A's and they both were very thin and tinny, and it wasn’t just...

    Re: Gilchrist Mandolins

A buddy of mine has a really nice Gilchrist that I used to have a raging case of MAS over. Its a killer mando. Lucky for me my Northfield killed my MAS and it hasn't returned.

    Re: Best Mandolin for $3000-$3500?

    Re: Best Mandolin for $3000-$3500?

I was in the same boat about two years ago. I had suffered with a sub mediocre instrument for years and had a raging case of MAS. Over the years I had played and salivated over most all of the...

Re: Chris Thile on Jimmy Fallon

Threads like these are amazing to me. Somewhere in the middle of us there is this mandolin thing, but Wow, we sure approach it from 360 degrees. Or more like 360 X 360 degrees. Does a sphere have...

Re: making big money in music

For musicians, what happens when they get old? I'm there and believe me things do not come as easy as they once did. If I were a young professional musician I'd live as meagerly as possible and...
