Very touching story. She's probably pickin' as we speak...looking down from above.
Danny Bishop at Bishop Violins. Fairview is near Asheville.
Joe Glaser in Nashville,TN has the reputation of being an authority of the subject of frets(action) but Im sure other posters can recommend any number of qualifed luthiers.
Great Ted...do you have any sound files available...I'd be interested in hearing jazz progressions in a contemporary gospel setting
Please include me shiloh...thanks
I'm been considering a different angle concerning royalties. I think other's may be willing to pay me royalties for not playing their songs. Given my capabilities I think I could mop up.
Norman Blake has it on an album also...Whiskey Before Breakfast I think.
Really nice Brad! Let's hear more.
Everyone I've heard speak of them say they are beautiful and have an amazing tone. Go ahead Monster...pull the trigger and get you one.
This is the type of discussion that I normally steer clear of but I’d like to weigh in if I may. I certainly don’t mean to be condescending or didactic in any way to other posters.
I have learned...
1 more for J75s
That's the cover for the truss rod. The plate is removed to adjust the rod.
Congratulations Jonathon...play the heck outta that puppy...good luck on your lessons and welcome to the cafe.
Beautiful Biork...Congratulations! Mr. Ellis is making some awesome instruments.
There had been several threads lately concerning instruments damaged in transit. It's enough to spook anyone. The opinions concerning the best shippers are as varied as who makes the best...
There's no doubt you'll be satisfied biorkman. They have incredible tone with fit and finish to match. Congrats!
I took it that they were for sale but possibly they were Dan's. Dan has a collection from what I heard him say. One of the Ellis' I'm certain was his, it was one sweet mandolin, BTW.
Pigeon Forge, TN....near Knoxville
They did this past Saturday.
Collings and Greg Boyd....both class acts.
I was in the area over the weekend and stopped in. They have some fantastic mandos. I played killer Ellis', Collings, Passernigs, Paul Duff, and more. If you all are ever in the area, make it point...
mandogal...if you have thoughts as to what would be ideal for you contact me and I will make it for you
I would think that everything Collings has in progress at any given time is spoken for by distributors. There's usually a pretty good waiting list from what I understand. It would be great to tour...
Herschel is a true master. Grey eagle, among others, is unbelievable.
