  1. Re: Mandolin Cases: Likes, Dislikes, Wishes, Imagination

I would think customer satisfaction, word of mouth advertising, and customers sharing their opinions and experiences on forums such as this would be worth something.
  2. Re: Mandolin Cases: Likes, Dislikes, Wishes, Imagination

I would rate the CG-046-MF case I received as follows; materials 8 out of 10, zero for craftsmanship and quality, and a zero for an overall score because the case was unusable.
    Most surprising to...

Based on my recent personal experience, I would highly recommend that you avoid the Guardian CG-046-MF case. The headstock and body cavities of the case did not align, rendering the case unusable. ...

  7. Re: F holes,to bind, or not to bind, that is the question???

Personally, I find bound F holes to be more of an aesthetic thing than something impacting the tone

Re: What happens if no-one pays for music?

Illegally downloading music is a threat and a slap to the face of any musician. One often overlooked market that is thriving larger than ever (from which payment to the artist is removed) is the...

    Re: Gibson sound

No... I would say all mine possess very similar tonal characteristics, but each vary to a small degree. Attributed to the wood grain, density, etc.
  10. Re: Why don't other quality mandolins sound like Gibsons?

Not all Gibson's sound identical. Mine possess a similar tonal quality, but each varies subtly from the other. I am certain the same could be said for any other maker.

I trim my nails with a clipper, then put the finishing touches on them using an emery board. I trim mine so that when my finger is straight and perpendicular to the table top, the tip of my finger...

Re: Gibson -- still dead in the water.

True... Bernie does raise a legitimate question about future product availability. That's politically neutral.

Re: Pick noise on professional recordings

I'm no Ricky Skaggs, but I find myself "clicking" frequently, and in my opinion, not annoyingly. When I play, the heel of my palm is gently resting on the strings just behind the bridge which places...

Re: Some other threads brought up this question

Everyone has a method that best suits them to learn music, and a sincere bravo to each for what works for them.
