Interesting information. Any guess of the time period? It seems they were popular in the 1920's, does that sound about right?

Hey folks, I have a Banjolin with Troubadour on the head. Any idea of its age or worth? It does need some work on the tail piece. It was bought about 60 years ago in Europe and made its way to Canada...
That's the kind of advice I need, thank you.
Any tips or tricks to strum patterns? I play clawhammer banjo and struggle to strum out tunes on a mando, its frustrating.
The midi sounds like crap but I'm guessing it's a trem or a triple?
The pic was taken from Diving Duck Blues from Mando hangout. I think there is a tremolo at the beginning of the tab as well. How is a trem written in tab?
Thanks.
Well, the [3] has a sound but the [5] doesn't.
It sounds like a slight pause before the [5]...maybe.
So...the string isn't hit for that 5? (sorry, I'm new to TabEditor)

The little [5]?
Two Cord Songs: Back from the Dead
I will as long as I have it. The guy who gave it to me is a little overly sentimental about it and I'm giving it back to him as soon as I buy one.
As in "Ahhh, fiddle sticks?"
I'm interested in mando for old time music, is there a method you folks would recommend?
I found Appalachian Mando by Butch Baldassari/David Schnaufer
What style of mando?
What is a good...
You folks are too serious for me. I was joking.
Including your statement. ;-)
I will say this is a much better sounding mando then the Asian brands I've tried before. It's heavy wood, very loud and stays in tune.
Not bad for a first mando.

Any idea how much this "Texas" Framus is worth? It's a loaner so I'm not looking to make a buck on it, but it is a really solid mando, a lot better then the Asian mandos I see hanging on the walls in...
Ok, so I've been messin' with this ol' mando since last night and can play Cluck Old Hen (slow). I didn't notice it until now but the body looks like uke body.
Was this a normal body type for the...
Excellent, thank you.
Could you good folks post a link to a tab for one of the easier tunes?
I had a pro do it tonight and he said it was in excellent shape. It cost me $10 bucks for strings and that was it. Everything else was in good work working order, he oiled it? Not sure, but it's...
I have a Framus about 30 or more years old and I have to get a bridge and strings put on it.
Any suggestions or advice on the set up?
I will, thanks Bill. My son is thinking about buying the duclimer stick by Washburn right now tho.
I wish I had more to go on. It doesn't look like anything I've found online and the mando doesn't have any model number in it.
It's all black and was on sale for around $150 so it must be for...
I'm looking for recommendations for ol' time mando tunes suitable for a beginner, thanks.
