I know that we've discussed these tuners but I can't seem to find the information I was once able to locate. Can anyone tell me where to find those threads? Thanks, Mike
Thanks to all for your input. Thanks Jasona for your followup. I've been doing some research on the Dublin area and look forward to the music there. Best to you all. Mike
Great jasona! Any info would be appreciated...music, restaurants, hotels, etc. Have a good time. Best, Mike
Thanks for your input--the sites you've referred me to are very informative. Best regards, Mike
Would be gratful for any information regarding music in either of these cities in early October. #Also, hotels and eateries in the central city location would be welcome. #Thanks, Mike
I'd say that jim_n_virgina's post is well worth noting. #I'm not always as careful as Jim suggests, but certainly should be. Regards, Mike
Could be a special order. I have photos of my old F5-L dated October 5, 1988 and signed by Steve Carlson with fern ph.--not sure I've noticed another flowerpot from that era. Just my guess. Regards,...
Thanks guys. Heart by-pass surgery has come a long way and I expect to be better than ever soon. Plenty of time to hang out at the Cafe! Regards, Mike
Home from surgery for the past couple of days and being very bored, I picked through my music room to find some reprieve. #I dug out my copy of Jim Richter's DVD-Video recorded live at the Crazy...
John: After looking at the photos you posted of your new Stan Miller, I recalled that it has a two piece Price tp with "Nugget" engraved on it. That's a nice heavy high quality tp but string changes...
Just back from a week of hiking in the mtns out west. #Good to see this great info on the Millers. #Will be shipping to you in the am, John. #ps: John, maybe you can post some photos when you receive...
I think it's a real shame that Stan stopped building mandolins. I've owned a couple of Givens mandolins and this Miller is every bit as good. Remembering that Stan built only a few dozen...
I got this Stan Miller F5 a year or so ago from a guy in western Canada. After we had made our trade, he told me that he had purchased it from John Reischman and that Todd Phillips had done the...
Another vote for Jim DeCava. He's provided excellent workmanship and service for me for many years.
Art--unless it's confidential, would be interesting to know which builders attend this special class. Regards, Mike
You can contact David Harvey direct @ (615)264-8578. In addition to the neck, this product works wonders on all of the varnish finish--cleans, polishes and protects. It's pricey, but your instrument...
I had that problem with the neck on a varnished Gibson and used Dave Harvey's Jubilee Varnish Polish & Cleaner--solved the problem with a couple of applications. Good luck.
Beautiful old world elegance(both instrument and case)--will be interested in a performance report.
mandoh--if you read the threads on Hilburn #38 you'll see how I feel about that mandolin. I live in northwestern CT.
Now that's a great photo bobrem! Thanks for posting it.
In for that weekend and would appreciate information on any acoustic music going on at that time. Thanks, Mike
#38 has now been with me for about 2 days. I got on Jim's list primarily because of the artistic beauty of his work.#I decided on an A style with good quality wood and nice inlays with hopes that the...
Brian: Thanks so much for the update on Jim Fee. I used to enjoy spending time with Jim at his home and at his store in Pine Castle, FL. He and Paul Champion really got me involved in the banjo. Glad...
