Judging by the variety of items for sale by the seller it almost looks like it might be a pawn shop.
Somebody is real happy with that purchase I bet. $1565 for a very well made F5 like that is a steal. From the pics the spacing between the strings at the nut seemed wider than normal. The fingerboad...
Great. Thanks for the info Allen.
I thought I would post some pics of a unique mandolin of mine. The label reads; The Emmanuel, No 3, Made by Claude Watson 1958 Detroit. The 1958 could possibly be 1968 but I'm pretty sure it's 1958. ...
Bruce is making some great mandolins. Since the end of last year he has changed some of his graduations. He received some guidance from Will Kimble who lives nearby. His varnish reminds me of Will's.
The young man playing the other mandolin is Dustin Frame. I saw him in a video on Bruce Clark's website for his Nichols Road mandolins.
No fingerboard binding. No back binding and no black purfling inside the top binding would indicate it's not a Style A2Z. The ghost 7 on the label could be a stain. Like Dan says it's probably an A...
It looks like a Gibson F5G.
I had a D'Angelico ukulele from 1930 with a similar label.
Please change NorthStar to Paul Weber. Thanks!
Does anyone know the chords for False Hearted Love? Tab would be great also. Some great 60s Monroe style mandolin playing by Earl on the CD Earl Taylor & Jim McCall, 20 Bluegrass Favorites(only $6 On...
You can go to Frets.com and go to the Museum you will see a mandolin just like yours.
The body of the ukulele looks like it was refinished which would lower its value. It would be more of a players uke rather than for a collector. $200 - $300.
I did a Buy-It_Now a few days ago on a nice Stradolin for $250. I sold the Orpheum branded Stradolin i had purchased on Ebay a few years ago this spring & I miss it. This new one is a little nicer...
I ran across this paragraph in an article in Vintage Guitar last month by Michael Wright on the Premier E-727 guitar manufactured by the Peter Sorkin Music Company. The Peter Sorkin Company was a...

I favor #1. Better treble...stronger, sweeter & more focused. # 1 is more balanced across the strings. Will mature very nicely as a Loarish/red spruce mandolin.
I received this answer from Thomas Favilla after asking about any relationship of Favilla with Stradolin.
Once upon a time there was a Stradolin Company (I believe based in Union New...
Looks like an early Stradolin.
The Vox DA5 is also a great little portable amp that runs on C batteries or with a power cord. More effects and styles to choose from than any other amp of this size. Do a search on the net to get...
My Lyon & Healy Style A of the last 5 years is now owned by Peter. It's a great sounding one. Hopefully he will be using for upcoming gigs.
Cliff Sargent?
