Thanks Pete. Couldn't agree more.
Natural lubricant makes it excellent for making clocks. Read Longitude. John Harrison built a clock out of LV and nearly 300 years ago that runs to this day.
Very nice overall, and that back is stunning.
Agreed on the tuning bit. 4 months in with mine, and there days I only have to tweak a string or two before I play.
As for the second part above, I couldn't agree more. Mike said something to me...
Looks wonderful. Congratulations, and enjoy!
True. It has been a little wet in the area lately.

Agreed. You should be taking possession soon, no?
Looking good, Ron. The headstock design is tasteful.
I can't tell from the photo, but did you opt for full binding? I didn't, but haven't regreted it one minute. The sound is super all the...
Hello Kristen, and welcome. Your blog entry is intriguing. I'll add to the anecdotal fray...

Cover it with 8 strings or so.
Agreed. I saw the band in St. Louis in January, and my wife and I spoke to Jeff after the show. He is an exceptional mandolin player, and very good with fans.
That top is taking shape nicely. Just remember, Ron: breath in, breath out, repeat...
Keep 'em coming.
I got pictures about every 3-4 weeks. I do like to watch a mandolin take shape. Especially my own. ;^>
Hang in there. Mine was worth the wait. Tough to put it down. I am thoroughly satisfied.
Thanks all.
Ed, the woods are all what is spec'd on Mike's website. Adirondack red spruce on top, red maple sides, and back. (Well, I'm pretty sure the back is red maple, now that you ask... ...
I picked up my mandolin from Mike Holmes in late January. We had a great visit, and I got to bring home my new F-style. I have had a hard time putting it down. Last week's snowstorm allowed me a...
For what it's worth... There are thousands of trained volunteers who take proper measurements of snowfall that can allay lot's of media hype (a 4 foot drift is just that---a drift...) Look at the...

Glad to do it Chinn, but the one I own actually fits inside the mandolin itself. It can save you even more space.
Looks like a good one. Thanks for the review. I do believe I played one of those when I was on my search for an upgrade several years back. It was in the running, but came up a wee bit short (for...
I bought the CD around the time it came out. I'm not sure I've heard "Ridin' That Midnight Train" at a faster tempo. :disbelief:
Similar to journeybear, I think the word "great" has become...
YES! I knew someone would admit it eventually... ;)
Congratulations. That's a fine looking instrument. Enjoy it. My MM-8 goes everywhere with me.
What Chris said. +1
