What a cool idea! The walnut burl is amazing, and I love what you did with the headstock. Definitely a work of art. Looks like it belongs in a Dali painting.
I agree with Santiago. We're talking about two of the best mandolin makers in the country IMO. I'm sure there are many benefits of the merge for the business owners. I'd imagine there will be amazing...

You did a really great job! Thanks for posting photos. I wonder if I'll ever have the courage to strip the nitro off my Eastman... very tempting, but I'd need something else to pick on during that...

Then again, I bet John Hamlett would know as well as anyone. ;) Just my 2 cents...
I believe Eastman was using the same Schaller tuners in 2006 that they are using today, though I could be wrong. I remember changing the tuners on my old MK and it was fairly easy, but I also swapped...
That's very nice indeed. I like the distressed look... I was recently reading threads on removing nitrocellulose. I'm still contemplating it on my Eastman. I'd rather have varnish.
Okay... that is absolutely gorgeous. I want it.
Well... let's see some pics!
Welcome Frank, and congrats on your new Eastman!

I had a wonderful evening in Park City last night at Riffs Acoustic Music.
The Matt Flinner Trio put on a great show as always, and what a great setting... I thought I'd post just a taste here for...
Thanks mandroid, yes, that's what I got alright. Definitely learning here... kinda like a foreign language. So I believe you're saying the jack for this normally plugs into the mic channel. Do most...
I think I meant output...
I just did a forum search with the keyword "amp" and found a few threads with great info regarding acoustic amplification, and people's opinions on what is best. Awesome, but I'm still in the dark a...
I agree that the 505 sounded great! I just got my 615 a couple of weeks ago and absolutely LOVE it. The newer ones come with a Schertler reso-coil installed too if he ever cares to plug in. It's a...
I'm guessing you have it by now... what do you think?
One of my favorite songs... need to learn this on the mando. I've seen other mandolin players performing it on youtube. I guess it's time I get to it. George was the best. Thanks for posting!
Great discussion. I too have been contemplating whether or not I should put a CA bridge on my mando. I have only been playing my new axe for about a week, and think the setup is pretty good. I just...
