I am currently restoring a teens Gibson Mandocello. If any one knows where I can find an orginal case please let me know. I am also looking for tuners and a tailpiece. I believe that the tuners and tail piece are the same ones used on the Gibson mandolins of the period. Let me know if any one has any for sale or knows of any.
Thanks,
Phil
PS
I am also looking for a case for a Gibson Style O guitar.

You should really post this in the Classifieds.

With or without scroll?
Tailpiece should be the same, but the tuners and case would be different. Yes, tuners and tailpiece are the same as mandolin, at least on the ones I've seen.

I will post it in the classifieds. Thanks. It is a Gibson K-1. It looks like an A style mandolin, no scroll. I can also be reached at goaty76@aol.com.
Thanks,
Phil

As I recall, the mandocello tailpieces are different. They are heavier and use posts instead of the usual triangular cutouts. The bottom strings are doubled .074s - thats a lot of tension! Tuners are the same as mandolins. Often a tenor banjo case will work for mandocellos.

I have an old Gibson mandocello in for repairs "as we speak" with a tailpiece just like a mandolin.
