Ok I have found a km630 mandolin. looks like it to be the newer version. Going to look at it and play it.
Does anyone have any insight to this mando and what to look for when I see it?

A simple test ... press your finger down on any of the strings at the first fret. If it is hard to play then you know it can be better with a good setup. Is the action high at the 12th fret? If so is there room to lower the bridge? Hold one of the strings down at the first fret and the 20th fret. Is the string almost touching all of the frets (the neck is fairly straight) or is the neck bowed and you can see space between the string and the frets in the middle. A setup will usually cure any of the problems these simple tests indicate but if any of these conditions are questionable I'd be cautious. How does it sound? How is the balance across all strings, for instance the G, D and A may be good and the E weak? Does it look structurally sound? If you play it and like it then buy it and have fun.
Yes I feel hat same..Thanks for the knowledge..
