KM1000 Kentucky, looking to find the age

I realize I am not the first one to ask this question, but I have just traded for a suppoed to be 80's KM1000 Varnish Mandolin. I have the ser.# 20010609, So far the research I have done on the madolin, hasn't brought any results. ANYONE out there that can help?

I don't recall Kentucky doing varnish 1000s in the 80's. Best post some photos here so we can tell more about it. I get June 9, 2001 out of that number.
