Mantello e Cilindro - Kaden Hurst and Jordan Ramsey
One of my Regis University students will be graduating this semester, and he's worked really hard on a big-time senior recital. Paganini's 2nd Caprice, Calace Prelude 2. He's also composed a piece for hybrid bluegrass/string ensemble (mandolin, banjo, violin, cello), and we're going to improvise on some fiddle tunes. A duet that I suggested was my buddy Brian Oberlin's "Mantello e Cilindro", written for him to perform with the great mandolinist Carlo Aonzo. Super fun piece, here's our rehearsal this afternoon:

If you're in the Denver area on March 31st, come check out the recital. 7:30pm in Claver Hall Auditorium on Regis campus.

Wonderful playing.
Also proof that the F style mandolin was invented to play classical music.
Everyone else lucked out in that it also was so good for other styles.
Jordan, I seriously respect your approach to mandolin.
