The Song-A-Week Social Group
Welcome! For over 10 years, we had a poll, and an Official Tune. These polls are on hold for now. Please browse through the tune discussions in the three Table of Contents, & learn, comment on, or submit your video in the discussion, regardless of when it was originally posted.
While there will not be any new "official tunes", we still welcome new tune submissions! If you've got a favorite tune that doesn't already have a discussion, please submit it, with the name of the tune as the subject of a new discussion.
We also welcome general discussion posts!

CGDAEG (NST) And Other Deviants
Those crazy enough to experiment with the world of extended tunings, especially in the murky underworld of the CBOM Zone.
NST is an acronym for "New Standard Tuning" as proposed by Robert Fripp in his Guitar Craft courses. Of course, the tuning is not exactly standard, and the bottom 5 strings are not new by any stretch...but NST has entered the general musical lexicon, and now you know what it means.Category: MiscellaneousLast Activity: Sep-21-2022 1:20pm

Mandolin players in Ireland!
Mandolin players who live in Ireland &/or who simply enjoy playing Irish Music on their Mandolin, might enjoy this group.
Perhaps we can help raise the profile of the wee Mandolin in Ireland!
After all, so many musicians, here in Ireland, actually learn to play the Mandolin before going on to play other, louder instruments, like Fiddle & Tenor Banjo, but I'm sure many are still played at home.
We need to encourage more folks to start taking them out to sessions!Category: Members by RegionLast Activity: Apr-12-2024 2:13am
