I don't think this one has been posted already.... while I was on a waldzither kick I recorded this one as well. This lovely tune is a very rare thing... a slow.... very slow... reel. Here's my version, still not as smooth as I would like up the neck, but I wanted those open string drones going on... I do like the sound of that instrument Tavy. Nice rendition.
Thanks Jim, I like the sound of the waldzither too John.
I really enjoyed that
Thank you Harry! John.
Nice one Tavy, I think the nearest I have come across to the sound of the Waldzither is a 12 string ( 4 courses of 3) by Paul Hathway....great sound.
Thanks Tosh, not sure I would want one of these with triple courses - it's hard enough on the fingers as it is! Interestingly though, they did make a triple strung waldzither - here's one that David Hynds restored: Note how the bass course hangs over the edge of the fingerboard... not sure how you would play the darn thing John.
Very nice!! That instrument has a lovely sound. I've only heard the name of them before.
