This is a pipe tune composed by the great Pipe Major William Lawrie. I have arranged it for octave mandolin and acoustic guitar, the octave providing the lead and the guitar the backing. I feel that the octave gives me scope which the mandolin does not to interpret bagpipe music. Have a great Christmas, all of you who help to make this such a great group to be in.
I love it John. Contributions like this makes this group so valuable. Merry Christmas to you!
Indeed John, the octave is better for pipe tunes because it has what the mandolin has not: sustain! Well done, I could march to that. A Happy Christmas to you!
I think you're right, Jon. Your pipe-like ornamentation works really well with the octave's sustain. Very Merry Christmas to you too!
Wonderful recording and octave John. Thanks for all your contributions. Happy Holidays.
Hi John, Really nice. You certainly have that bagpipe rhythm down, it must be in your blood. And that octave sounds fantastic
